Founder’s Note

A Love of Languages May Begin With a Story
Children often enter language through pleasure before they ever think of it as learning. A story gives words a living context: a voice, an emotion, an image, a rhythm. Instead of meeting language as a list to memorize, children meet it as something they can feel, imagine, and carry with them.
Stories also help reassure children in a world they do not fully understand, a world that changes over time and can sometimes feel uncertain, overwhelming, or unfair.
My hope is to create books that make language memorable in both sound and meaning and help children grow close to words, delight in them, and feel more at home in the world around them.
I am the founder of Stories For Learning, and the mother of children growing up in French, English, and Spanish. I write from that world, and for every child who is learning to call more than one place home.
